Writing Days and the Bureau of Correspondence invite you to a Letter Writing and Listening Lounge.
Momentarily, leave clutter and chaos behind you, cross the line into a quiet calm environment and you're in! A hide away, a sanctuary, where you can shelter from the beeps and bings of this frenetic noise-filled world.
You are immediately ready to commit to the act of writing a letter to anyone in your thoughts – a dear friend, a long lost relative, a politician, a movie star, a political prisoner.
In an age where handwriting is under threat by the advance of modern technology, this event creates an opportunity for quality time with two simple objects - a pen and a piece of paper. This event is a No Phone Zone and is greatly inspired by a world that existed before computers ran our lives.
These two hours will be dedicated to writing letters and the listening of letters read by special guests including Gabriella Muñoz, Kelly Hucker and Rose Turtle Ertler.
Venue: Mesopotamia Art Space
